چکیده

Received Abstract. Fe II radiative lifetimes were measured applying the time-resolved nonlinear laser-induced fluoresence technique. We investigated 21 levels of up to 47000 cm −1. The uncertainties are typically 2 – 3 %. The lifetimes provide an improved absolute scale to our branching fractions which were measured with a Fourier transform spectrometer and a high–resolution grating spectrometer and which have been published earlier. We report absolute transition probabilities of 140 Fe II lines in the wavelength range 220–780 nm. The overall uncertainties are estimated to be 6 % for the strong and up to 26 % for the weak transitions. The results are compared with recent experimental data from the literature.

The FERRUM project: Transition probabilities for forbidden lines in [Fe ii] and experimental metastable lifetimes

Context. Accurate transition probabilities for forbidden lines are important diagnostic parameters for low-density astrophysical plasmas. In this paper we present experimental atomic data for forbidden [Fe ii] transitions that are observed as strong features in astrophysical spectra. Aims. To measure lifetimes for the 3d(G)4s a 4G11/2 and 3d (D)4s b 4D1/2 metastable levels in Fe ii and experime...

Lifetime measurements and transition probabilities in Mo II

Lifetimes have been measured using time-resolved laser-induced fluorescence for 16 odd levels in the doublet, quartet and sextet systems of Mo II, with energies in the range 48 000– 61 000 cm−1. Absolute transition probabilities and oscillator strengths are determined for 110 UV and visible transitions (208 < λ < 485 nm) from a combination of experimental lifetimes and theoretical branching fra...

Semi-empirical studies of atomic transition probabilities, oscillator strengths and radiative lifetimes in Hf II

Over the past few years, laser induced fluorescence and Fourier Transform techniques have been applied to measure radiative lifetimes and branching fractions in Hf II in order to derive oscillator strengths and transition probabilities. In the present work, we propose to compare for the first time these experimental data to computed values obtained by two different semi-empirical approaches, re...

Catalyzed Oxidation of Cyclohexene and Cyclooctene with First Row Transition etallophthalocyanines

First row transition metal complexes of phthalocyanine are employed as catalysts for the oxidation of cyclohexene and cyclooctene using iodosylbenzene and pentafluoroiodosyl benzene. The catalysis was performed in dichloromethane: methanol:water (80:18:2) solvent mixture.  The products of the catalysis for cyclohexene are epoxycyclohexane, 2-cyclohexene-1-ol and 2-cyclohexene-1-one whereas ...

IMPROVED LABORATORY TRANSITION PROBABILITIES FOR Gd ii AND APPLICATION TO THE GADOLINIUM ABUNDANCES OF THE SUN AND THREE r-PROCESS RICH, METAL-POOR STARS

Radiative lifetimes, accurate to 5%, have been measured for 49 even-parity and 14 odd-parity levels of Gd ii using laser-induced fluorescence. The lifetimes are combined with branching fractions measured using Fourier transform spectrometry to determine transition probabilities for 611 lines of Gd ii. Thiswork is the largest-scale laboratory study to date of Gd ii transition probabilities and t...
